Introduction to Lifecasting

This introductory workshop explores the fundamentals of lifecasting, guiding you through the process of capturing detailed impressions of body parts using skin-safe moulding materials. Through interactive and practical learning, participants will gain a solid understanding of the lifecasting process, from material selection to final casting.

In addition to hands-on casting, we will introduce a range of lifecasting materials and final casting options, providing insight into their applications and benefits. Whether you're interested in special effects, sculpture, or prop-making, this session will equip you with essential technical knowledge and hands-on skills to apply in your own creative practice.

This workshop is designed for beginners and focuses on casting body parts such as hands, feet, fingers, etc. Face casting will be available in our upcoming intermediate workshop.

What You’ll Learn:

  • An introduction to lifecasting and its creative applications

  • Preparing materials and models for an efficient, safe casting process

  • Working with different skin-safe moulding materials to achieve high-detail impressions

  • Exploring various final casting materials and their properties

  • Demoulding techniques and handling the cast without damage

  • Essential finishing methods to refine and enhance your final piece

All materials and tools will be provided.
